OMINA STUDIO

OMINA

OMINA is a post-digital ritual of collective live dramaturgy. The term, of Latin root, alludes to ancient omens, connecting with the mystery of that which is about to be revealed. The proposal stems from a shared intuition: the existence of common patterns between the body, nature, and the universe. Inspired by alchemy as symbolic knowledge and transmutation, the project investigates the relationships between the micro and the macro, and how these universal forms can manifest through contemporary technological media. The video-feedback visual effect is used to generate fractal patterns in real-time, synchronized with musical compositions that intertwine geometric melodic patterns. The piece seeks to create a space of aesthetic overflow to enable new possibilities in a shared, emergent, and mutant body. The phenomenon of video feedback —a loop between camera and projection that generates unpredictable fractal patterns— can become a symbolic space, a 'tangible temple' where body, sound, and light are intertwined in a single ritual. The MIDI notes of the composition refer to intertwined domes, Gothic arches, and cathedral structures. Repetitive, ascending, and descending motifs interwoven with each other are used. This produces an effect of expansion and contraction, similar to a space that breathes. Between the ancestral and the digital, the performance unfolds a dimension of the virtual sacred. Just as we used to gather around the fire to share myths, today we congregate before screens, luminous reflections where the story continues to be ignited. Omina proposes a transposition of that ritual fire into a feedback light, building a space of reconciliation with the artificial, returning to us a sacred space where we can connect with the origin.
